3-year-old Barbara's room is a charming, colourful and creative room.
The room is decorated with toys, furniture and fun little finds that have a special meaning for Barbara and her parents. Still, her parents have kept in mind that this is a room for a little girl, making sure that everything in here is for Barbara to use and play with.

A view from the hallway and into Barbara's room with tall ceilings and a beautiful double-door opening. The red and white rug from Kusiner Carpets make for a sharp but beautiful contrast to the stained, dark floors.
Seen here: A large raffia zoo basket, pacifiers, a large mushroom lamp. and an orange Wichtel doll on the bed.
A stool is placed by the bed, holding a few books that are read at bedtime including Solægget by Elsa Beskow, first published in 1932.
Also here; a few pacifiers and a handmade pacifier clip, made from vintage ribbon found in Rome.
There is a wonderful mix of textures and colours on the wall: A hook from Zimbabwe hangs next to a textile storage net; further down a hangs a poster and some of Barbara's art work.

A doll house is placed on the Alvar Aalto bench in perfect height for Barbara to play. Baskets with toys are placed under the bench, also within reach.
A foam puzzle rug in tones of greens and a bright blue is placed on the door, matching the 'Green Ground' colour on the wall from Farrow & Ball. On the floor lies a knitted clown from Creme de la creme ala Helle.
The beautiful double door with exquisite details including carved panels and the old brass handle. On this handle hangs a large Bonton tote which is used for outings during weekends.

Colourful hangers match the green wall hook from Zimbabwe perfectly. The hook was a gift from Barbara's grandmother, and a special one since Barbara's mother grew up in Zimbabwe.
Above, an embroidered art piece that has been put in warm, wooden frame.
A cute bunny bowl is used to store colourful pacifiers and a handmade pacifier clip. Next to it, some of Barbara's toys, most found on flea markets.
Barbara's books are stored in this cute little shelf that is placed in one corner of the room. On the shelf is a large mushroom lamp used during the day and especially at night time.
A large red suitcase is placed on the blue chair, also from Zimbabwe, matching the lamp and the rug on the floor.

The beauty of contrast: A David Shrigley calendar hangs next to a storage net made from Liberty fabrics.
A Pimpel doll in colour Berry is placed in one of the pockets, while a baby lotion, a blue children's brush and a pacifier in colour bubblegum is seen on the table.
The radiator cover also functions as a shelf, and lots of colourful toys and puzzles are on display here.
On the wall: A Matisse print, and some of Barbara's own drawings.
A look down the room that is colourful, inviting and warm. This is a not just a beautiful room but also practical space for Barbara to play, grow and learn.
Barbara loves Pippi, and often plays with the vintage figures of Pippi, Annika and Tommy that were found on an the vintage site dba.dk.
