Gyldendals classic stories for little ones is a collection of books for the youngest readers. Some of these books allow for curious little fingers to open flaps or pull a strap, some are lovely stories of well known characters such as 'Cirkeline', 'the Mole', 'Little Frog' and 'Pippi Longstocking'. These books are made of sturdy cardboard, ideal for babies and toddlers, who may not always be so gentle. All books come with beautiful illustrations and lovely stories that will bring a smile to any reader, young or old.
Aarhus, Denmark
3-year-old Vincent lives with his parents in a beautiful and light apartment in the centre of Aarhus, Denmark.
Vincent's room is the smallest room in the apartment, but it feels airy and light. His bed is placed in his parents' bed room, making his room a play room only, where books and toys are stored on shelvings, hangs on hooks and are placed on the custom-built table by the window.
His things are also placed elsewhere in the apartment, seamlessly and effortlessly blending in with the rest of the interiors making this a beautiful family home catering for everyone's needs.

Vincent's room is calm and airy and light. A desk has been added by the window, and s a wonderful place to sit and play, read and draw.

Details from the shelf in the other end of the room: Books, puzzles, dolls and the Pippi Longstocking Figure Book are found next to suitcases that are used for storage. Find alternative suitcases here.

A Moomin book from Gyldendal on the desk next to three vintage ceramic mushrooms, a glass bonbonnière from Akua and a toiletry bag from Sea New York.

Small 'installations' are placed throughout the apartment. Here, an old rattan table is used to store some of Vincent's books and an old hedgehog piggy bank. Above, two Babar posters in beautiful frames.
"We wanted his room to be cosy and charming, but also practical. I love the shelf where his toys are within reach."
– Kristiane, Vincent's mom

On the desk: Colourful rock crayons on a beautiful ceramic plate, a kaleidoscope to view fun patterns and a variety of colours, and an old Elsa Beskow placemat to protect the table from markers and glue.

Two Alvar Aalto stools allow for Vincent and a friend – or a parent – to play together. The stools are easily stackable, freeing up space on the floor if needed.
Seen here: Rock crayons, a kaleidoscope, Cirkeline elsker ord, a raffia basket (find similar ones here) and a drum hanging on the hook on the wall.

Moving on from the play room and into the kitchen. Vincent's wooden play kitchen and kitchen accessories are placed here, and Vincent loves to play while his parents prepare dinner.

In the hallway: Jackets and a hat hang low on a vintage rattan hook next to a tote bag from Caramel. On the carpet below are cute little shoes and practical rubber boots for rainy days.
"Mixing old and new is a given for me – I like the balance it creates. Plus, it makes me so happy to see Vincent playing with things that I also played with as a child."
– Kristiane, Vincent's mom

Vincent's bed is placed in his parents' bedroom, right next to their bed.
His space is marked by soft tones of blue. On the bed is a Liberty pillow. Baskets on the floor are vintage and filled with soft toys and teddies.

A Liberty pillow add softness together with the blue blanket. On the bed lies 'Lille Frø er slem' written by Martin Jakob Strid.

A look into the living room with several zones and areas to play, draw, read and relax. The living room is a combined space for kids and adults alike.

Three vintage rattan children's chairs are placed in the living room underneath one window. They all come from Vincent's mother's childhood home. A soft doll in mint is placed in one, a Peter the Rabbit teddy in another, and cushions in the third.

The Peter's Chair and Peter's Table was a gift from Vincent's grandmother. Next to the table, a soft elephant pouf to play with and ride on. On the table lies 'Muldvarpen, der ville vide, hvem der havde lagt en lort på dens hoved' – a fun and charming children's book with pull-out flaps. Indoor shoes are from Bonpoint.
