Copenhagen, Denmark

Rays of light shine through the windows in the Copenhagen apartment on the 4th floor, and brings warmth and light into Sonja, 2, and almost 6-year-old Roberta's shared room.

Here, a beautiful and practical loft bed allows for the girls to share a room while keeping space free on the floor to play, roam, be creative, store their toys, books and other stuff.

Explore this wonderfully light and airy room with great storage options and a loft bed made of dreams – and with a little help from a kind neighbour.

A Charlie Chair in vanilla is placed in the corner next to a pretend play drying rack. On the chair lies a cashmere sweater in pink.

The most wonderful light shines through the room, highlighting the desk underneath the bed.

Seen here: A large goose lamp, a papier-mâché bear, an Arca Table. The rug is from Mini Knots – find a similar rug right here.

Boxes for stuff and a handmade pin board for drawings, invitations, pictures, a cute Elsa Beskow postcard and other keepsakes.

All the colours of the rainbow in this box of rock crayons. Also, a kaleidoscope for fun shapes and more rainbow colours.

The space underneath the bunk bed is cleverly used for storage and space to play. Here, a raffia box on the floor is used to store toys – find similar raffia boxes here – and a little shelf makes for a great place for the bunny lamp.

Games, stuff and more toys stored in the shelf in practical open baskets, including a pink raffia basket from Rice. Above, a bunny lamp and a pink Mason Pearson brush.

A cute pink hanger is used for an Elsa dress; the little kitchen is where the girls play restaurant, and serve only their favourites dishes. A picnic tea set is used to pour afternoon tea.

A shared desk and two chairs have been placed underneath the loft bed, allowing for the girls to play, draw and make puzzles while keeping things off the floor.

"We wanted to create a shared room for the girls with space to play and sleep. The loft bed was given to us by a kind neighbour, and made this dream come true."

– Natascha, Roberta & Sonja's mom

Shelves on the wall allow for the girls to have their books and toys within reach while keeping things off the floor.

Seen here: Two grey suitcases, a large goose lamp, a papier-mâché mask on the wall, and an open raffia basket in colour 'tea'.
